PBMS Family Bulletin

Message from the Principal

COVID Updates:PBMS has confirmed outbreaks on campus!  We still have less than 5 % of staff and students testing positive. So, as of tonight, it is highly recommended that all staff and students wear masks indoors through the end of the school year. In addition, it is recommended that your child gets tested for COVID in the next few days. Please keep your child home if they are experiencing any COVID symptoms.

PBMS Soccer: Both Girls and Boys soccer are still undefeated this season! The teams both won the Platinum Championship Games! They are the best soccer teams in the district. In addition, they also have the highest Academic GPAs of all of the distinct soccer teams -  Boys: 3.61 team GPA, Girls 3.92 team  GPA. Way to Go!

8th Grade AWARDS: We are so excited to recognize our 8th graders for all of their hard work and service - LIVE tomorrow morning at 8:45am. Invitations were sent home with students last week. We are committed to making this happen so we have added a few safety precautions. Masks are required of all students, staff and families inside the auditorium. You are encouraged to sit with 6 feet of distance between families. Do NOT attend the ceremony if you are experiencing any COVID symptoms. Feel free to bring your own mask but we will also have plenty to pass out to attendees. Families attending the ceremony will be expected to enter the side gate in the Felspar street parking lot. Mr. Sobel will greet you there and direct you to the auditorium. Signs will be posted with a QR code to scan.It will take you to a form where you will sign in and confirm that you are healthy. The gate will be locked promptly at the start of the ceremony. Late attendees will be expected to check in using the main gate and be escorted to the ceremony.

Bell Times: Thank you for  feedback on your start time preference. About 2/3 of families and 4/5 of staff requested the 8:00am start time. Today, the bell time committee and site governance team approved to change to the 8:00am start time. We understand this creates challenges if you also have high school students but it is much better for our elementary students who start school before 8:00am. Here is a link to the bell schedule. 22-23 PBMS Bell Schedule

BOOKS: All textbooks and library  books should be turned in by now. Please bring any PBMS books you find at home to the media center before school or at lunch over the next 3 school days. Chromebooks do NOT get turned in unless your child is leaving the district.

PBMS Music Program: Several parents and community members reached out to express concerns about the music program. Please know, PBMS has music classes in the schedule for next year based on student interest AND we are still  working on your concerns. There is no update on staffing at this time but we will keep you posted on any changes. Thank you for your patience and continued support of our excellent music program. The following link provides details about music at PBMS next year.  22-23 Music Letter

Just 3 more days of PBMS. We want all of our students to finish strong. Please encourage your child to make great choices at school, in the community and on-line. We want to make sure everyone walks across the stage on Tuesday. On Monday, students practice for the ceremony before the trip to Sea World. At that time, your child will learn which teacher is calling their name and where they are sitting on the MBHS field. Be sure to ask them where you should sit and when to listen for their name.  Here are a few links for you:
